The year has just begun, and our childhood nostalgia has already taken a serious hit. After being a staple on dinner tables for decades, Ronzoni Pastina will soon be a thing of the past. The popular pasta brand has discontinued its star-shaped Pastina pasta due to a problem with a supplier, according to various reports,

In a statement posted on social media last week, Ronzoni explained that there were no viable options available to continue producing Pastina after their supplier announced that they would cease making the product.

“After extensive efforts, we regretfully announce that Ronzoni Pastina is being discontinued. This wasn’t a decision that we wanted to make,” their statement read. “Unfortunately, our long-term supplier informed us that they would no longer be making Ronzoni Pastina as of January 2023. We searched extensively for an alternative solution but were unable to identify a viable option to make Pastina in the same beloved small shape, size and standards you have come to expect from Ronzoni. As a result, we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue this product.”

Pastina devotees have been hit hard by the news, and many expressed their disappointment in the comments section of Ronzoni's announcement.

"Ok discontinue it. We can discontinue purchasing all your pasta. There truly are better brands," wrote @goalie30mom.

"The fact that your supplier is not a bunch of Italian grandmas makes this even more depressing," @WhitForMerriam added.

Although Ronzoni Pastina will soon be no more, there are several similar products that are still available for purchase. Barilla, Goya, and Good & Gather are among the brands that sell their own tiny star-shaped pastas.
