If you are a Filipino living in Australia and you crave Pinoy cuisine, you might want to check out this restaurant in Melbourne and have a taste of an authentic Filipino dish!

As seen in Ian Cruz's report in "24 Oras Weekend," Sunday, the restaurant is called Chibog is owned by Janine, a native of Malabon City. It offers mouth-watering Pinoy dishes like crispy pata, lumpiang sariwa, okoy, and the famous kansi soup of the Negros people.

Janine, who left her nursing job in Australia to start the business, said that she inherited her cooking skills from her grandmother whose love for cooking stemmed from her Kapampangan roots.

"I was no longer happy with my career back then. Wala po talagang masyadong restaurant, Filipino restaurant and Filipino bars that serve a little bit of traditional and modern food cocktails din po sa Melbourne at that time," she said.

Aside from Filipinos, the restaurant is also famous among people of various ethnicities. Some of them cited sisig and okoy as their favorite dishes from the menu.

"It's been an amazing journey for my Filipino chefs and my chef to be able to share our Filipino traditions and cultures through food," Janine said.
